Sandstone boulders

I'm used to doing mainly portraiture so this is pushing me ~ I love it! These are so cool I just had to include them in this weeks theme. These were on our property (3 of them) when we bought it 5 years ago. They are sandstone boulders found about 20 miles from our house (at a mine site). They are wearing down with time/weather ~ they peel off in layers. They came from a dried up creek bed ~ must have been long ago because we live in a very dry, water free part of our state. I love the texture of them and wanted to share. I guess I could have included a shot of the entire boulder but couldn't quit zooming in to get the textures. CC welcome and appreciated.

Interesting take on the theme. That's the best part about these themes--seeing what other people think of! Neat shots.
