Nature's beauty

Sorry, I'm not on theme again today! I will try to be tomorrow. We got to enjoy a nice, relaxing drive over the mountain (without our kids) last weekend on our way to the wedding I was hired to photograph. This is Lake Sibley ~ it's right when you get to the top of the mountain.

The wild flowers were everywhere! I tried to get in the middle of them and get some great close-ups but it was in the middle of the day and the lighting was just terrible:( I still enjoyed taking some (although I won't post them). This one gives you an idea of what all the fields looked like, I have never been up there when there are this many wild flowers ~ what a treat!

This is our state flower, The Indian Paintbrush.

This is going down the other side of the mountain ~ Shell Falls. This photograph just does not do it justice. We were up so high and below us was just steep rock cliffs! I played around with the slower shutter speed to get the water looking like cotton candy. The effect isn't quite as dreamy as I hoped because this waterfall dumps nearly 4,000 gallons of water per second ~ wow!

It was a beautiful drive and wonderful weekend of FUN shoots ~ wish every weekend was like that:) CC welcome and appreciated.

Beautiful shots, amazing scenerey! Really like the waterfall shot. Maybe if you did the Orten technique you would get the dreamy effect your looking for?

I LOVE the first picture and the waterfall picture. They look like paintings that people would have in their house. I especially love the effect of the waterfall that you got. I've never taken pictures of nature but you make me want to try...thanks for inspiring me!!
